"As a handi-capable individual confined to a wheelchair, finding accessible rooms when on trips can be a challenge, especially when those trips are unexpected. When we stopped at The Inn at Shady Lawn just after 5pm and inquired about a room, they had no accessible units available. The owner even called several of their competitors to see if there were any rooms available in the area, only to be told each time that they had none. The owners teenage son who was staying at the Inn at the time overheard the conversation, and came up to the counter to voluntarily vacate the room he was in since it happened to be one of the only accessible units on the property. That started a flurry of activity as the awesome staff (we love you Savanah!) jumped into action to move him to another suite and clean the accessible room for us. In less than 30 minutes, we were moving our things into the only accessible room in the area, and all thanks to the generosity of a young man to whom I can never express my full gratitude. Nathan and Suzzannah Gittner are wonderful hosts. Although the facility has been around as long as I can remember, the Gittners have done an incredible job in providing updated amenities including blazing fast complementary WiFi. Our room was spacious, updated, and very comfortable. Many so-called ADA compliant rooms, aren't very wheelchair friendly, especially when it comes to the bathroom area. The Inn at Shady Lawn, on the other hand, has a bathroom that is plenty big enough for a wheelchair to easily get in,move around, and exit without any issues whatsoever, and even touts a roll-in shower. The Inn at Shady Lawn has earned my business from now on, just because of the way they went out of their way to see that we were taken care of. I cannot complement them enough."

"Our wedding weekend was incredible and it would not have been the same if it weren't for the shady lawn! The hospitality started even before we arrived, as the rooms were prepared and the owners reached out to us to see if there were any special touches they could add to make our weekend more special. My groomsmen and I (along with most of the wedding guests) stayed at the inn for a couple nights and every step of the way the shady lawn staff was there to accommodate us, even allowing me to use the office iron for a last minute crease fix on wedding day! The wedding night was truly incredible, and shady lawn ensured it stayed that way by having the two bedroom suite ready for us to check in after our reception. The room is stellar, bathroom is divine. There was even a gorgeous charcuterie board laid out for us upon arrival. Long story short, stay here if youre thinking about staying anywhere in the newland area - but not if it's on my anniversary weekend. Because we will be back!"
